Highly Purified Asian Ginseng: A proprietary ingredient with fortified ginsenoside

Asian ginseng is a perennial plant of the Araliaceae family which grows naturally in North America, South Korea, Bhutan, northeast China, and eastern Siberia. A major component contained in its roots is a member of the saponins called ginsenoside, which has anti-inflammatory and antacid effects and has been taken as a medicine since ancient times. Ginsenoside has diol series Rb1, Rb2, and Rc, and triol series Rg1 and Re, with different varieties yielding different medicinal actions. The highly purified Asian ginseng extract developed by Angfa is an original extract which has fortified ginsenoside.

VEGF Production

VEGF is an acronym for Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor, which has been proven to maintain hair during its growth period. Furthermore, the only known hair growth formula, minoxidil, effectively promotes the production of VEGF, which is thought to aid hair growth. We conducted an experiment in which we added our highly purified Asian ginseng extract to human hair follicle dermal papilla cells (HFDPC) to compare VEGF production. The amount of VEGF production varied significantly with the concentration of our extact in the sample. These results suggest that the highly purified Asian ginseng extract may be able to aid hair growth.

Improved Blood Flow Effect

Using a laser doppler blood flow meter (Laser Doppler ALF21, by ADVANCE), we measured the effects of our highly purified Asian ginseng extract when applied to the skin. Comparison was done between the following samples: 60%BG, our product, traditional product 1 and traditional product 2. The results showed that our product, the highly purified Asian ginseng extract, resulted in a higher tissue blood flow volume than the other samples. In addition to the above effects, Asian ginseng extract has been reported to activate K-channels and increase the number of human hair follicle dermal papilla cells. The extract we have developed has a high content of ginsenoside, and so we believe it will be highly effective for hair.
